A beautiful, rustic, and patched boro child's kimono.

The principle cloth on this garment has a fantastic indigo katazome pattern: flying plovers and "Genji-mon" - geometrical design patterns which originally symbolized the combinations of the fragrances in the kodo incense game.

The sleeves are a complimentary cool gray floral pattern, also stencil dyed.

A collectible and fantastic example of children's clothing in rural Japan, these children's kimono are becoming harder and harder to come by.

Early 1900's
