Tsutsugaki Futon Cover - Boro Phoenix and Crane


Bold indigo tstsugaki futon cover of crane and phoenix.

Tsutsugaki is a Japanese technique of resist dyeing that involves drawing rice-paste designs on cloth, dyeing the cloth, and then washing off the paste.

This particular piece is in excellent condition, was purchased from a Japanese tsutsugaki collector, and is museum backed for preservation purposes on the reverse with indigo dyed cotton.
