Boro Noragi - disintegrating cottons
The proper front of this noragi looks like the top layer is melting off to reveal the fabrics underneath. It is the interplay of the dense horizontal sashiko stitching and the kasuri cottons that lend to this visual.
The inside of the garment is a mix of midcentury shima (stripe) and check cottons in handsome earth tones.
It is a well worn noragi and a dramatic piece that at first seems understated, but as you sit with it you can see the various parts of the garment revealing themselves and the movement in the piece.
