This product is sold out
This is a beautiful antique woman's sashiko noragi.
Visually the garment is divided in half - - the top is hand woven indigo cotton kasuri, while the bottom is an indigo dyed, hand loomed shibori cotton.
The inside of the jacket is lined with aged hand spun indigo cotton. The outer and inner layers of fabric are bound via hundreds of sashiko stitches in a spiraling square pattern.
Two coin sized stains on the proper back and some fraying at the tip of the sleeve, but in otherwise excellent condition. Highly suitable for wear or display.
Early 20th Century
